09/06/2020 “We stumbled upon this place a few years ago (2017) & have never turned back! Our favorite place in Redlands!

First off I’ll say that the first time I experienced this place I knew I would always come back! Letty welcomed us in & explained to us that her son was still learning and were totally we’re okay with that. I’d like to mention that he’s quite the pro now! (He learned from the best)

We bring all of our friends and family with us and go any chance we can! I’ve never had anything I didn’t like and prefer the chorizo skillet, verde omelet, sandwich plates are delicious as well as the chili relleno sauce is to perfection! Everything is fresh and it’s very homely in there! I love the good vibes!

The last time we saw Letty she told my brother that she knew him and I frequent there with different people & that she appreciated us very much as things were hectic due to covid.

Letty will be missed and We will never forget her!
I know she is looking over her family and will be the best angel ever! She was so kind, so sweet and so beautiful! She always talked about her kids (she loved them sooo much)

We will always be customers and bring all our friends & family for as long as it’s open!

10/12/2020 “For the past three to four months, I have been craving chicken and waffles from Cheliz. Unfortunately, every time we called for take-out, no one answered the phone. It turns out that the owner passed away recently and Cheliz was closed for brief period of time. However, they recently opened back up and are back in business! My wife and I were so happy with this news that we have done take-out every week.

Obviously, my order was chicken and waffles as they have a juicy, perfectly golden fried chicken thigh/breast piece above the most fluffiest, softest Belgian waffle. They are really generous with butter and maple syrup and the combination of everything together is a pure delight.

My wife opts for their fish sandwich and relishes in their addition of crisp iceberg lettuce, red onions, and plump tomatoes sandwiched with a nicely fried, tender cod slathered in tarter sauce in a long hoagie roll. She often gets the fries because rather than flimsy fries (like that of fast food restaurants), these fries are thickly cut and are almost like steak fries.

My father-in-law and mother-in-law enjoy their senior breakfast specials as it comes with a huge portion of hash browns or country potatoes, pancakes, and choice of meat for a really cheap price.

Dare I say that Cheliz has the best diner food in town?”

01/06/2020 “Found this lil gem after being too hangry to stand and wait outside Carolyn’s. I was very happy to pull up here and see no line out the door. We were seated and greeted by a friendly lady (who happened to be the owner) as soon as we came in. She went over some of the menu items and gave us recommendations. The menu has a wide variety of options to choose from which are decently priced and portioned. I went for the Philly cheesesteak which was tasty and very filling. In addition, the place was nice and clean.

There are two areas that I could be improved based on my experience and other reviews I’ve read:

1) faster service, there were only about 4 other parties when we arrived and they had already been served yet our food did take a while to come out – can’t imagine what the wait time would be like with a Carolyn’s size crowd!

2) food was good but it was very greasy so that was a turn off – minimizing the amount of oil used to where you’re not wiping your hand after each time you hold the bun would feel nicer and healthier

Nonetheless, still satisfied with the food and service, would come back and try some of their other plates. All in all, a place worth checking out!”
